No Comments | Your Relationship Can Ruin or Improve Your Life
All relationships go through some kind of turbulence once in a while but it is important to watch for warning signs and to take some time out to work things out when they begin to spell trouble. It is when anger, coldness and blame begin to replace comforting warmth, love and intimacy.
Some of the alarm bells to be aware of are: constant bickering, avoidance, jealousy, depression and decrease in sexual passion.
Every relationship is different but the underlying problem is usually the same; lack of real honest and respectful communication. Good communication is essential for a lasting relationship, however most of the time couples just do not know how to communicate.
Some of the following strategies have been recommended by the best therapists around:
- Talk and listen; really talk and get things out in the open and listen to what your partner has to say. Some therapists recommend spacing this out so there is time to absorb and reflect on the information received. Day 1; spend a couple hours talking about what you like about each other. Day 2; talk about what has been bothering you (respectfully, tactfully and with maturity). Day 3; talk about what you miss about each other. Day 4; talk about where you want your relationship to go.
- Write a letter telling each other what you love and miss about the other and what you are hopping for the future. Exchange the letters and read them alone.
- Check each of your calendars and make time to go on a date. Just the two of you.
Find some time to do something different and fun together. Just laugh about something, and forget about the serious stuff for a while.

No Comments | Not Enough Money? Change That!
Not having enough money is one of the reasons who make a person want to change their lives. This article will not focus on how to make more money but on how to be more fulfilled with the money you already have, thus not exactly changing your life but changing the way you see your financial life.
Start by making a habit of writing everything down. What you spend and why. This will help you make a plan, cut corners and lower your expenses. Knowing where and how your money goes is no small feat but it is the only way to manage your money.
Once you know where your pennies are going you can get rid of superfluous expenditures and find coupons or discounts for those are necessary ones. It is all a case of looking at your expenses on a sheet of paper in black and white.
Please do not consider having fun and relaxing times with your family as superfluous expenses, as a person who relaxes properly and spends quality time with those who are important in their life, is a happier more fulfilled person. But do be careful how you spend your fun-and-relaxation budget, since there are always ways to stretch your pennies. For instance you can plan to go to the movies on discount days or eat out less, having a fun BBQ at home instead.
Be careful of debt, use cash or debit cards whenever possible. Live within your means and don´t compare yourself with others. Sometimes you are up and others you are down and so is everybody else.
Save 5 to 10 % of your income and invest through a retirement savings account to reduce your taxes, this means more money coming back to your come tax season, and less money going out from your weekly paycheck to go into Uncle Sam’s pockets.
If you are serious about this and would like to get more information from the experts there are several courses you can take online or at your local university called “Finances for non-finance people”.

No Comments | How to Meditate
We just published an article about meditation as a way to change your life, but do you really know how to meditate? Here are some instructions and tips.
Meditation involves practice and discipline. It is important to find a quite place and determine a time where you can meditate every day.
- Sit on the floor or in a chair with a straight back. Don’t lean back on a couch or lay down because you are likely to fall asleep. You need to be relaxed but aware, alert and conscious, not asleep.
- Begin a meditation at any time of the day. Some people find that the morning is the best time because you feel more refreshed but that depends on each person.
- Don’t eat before meditating because digestion can make you feel tired.
- Candles and incense can add inspiration but are not essential to the process.
- Focus on your breathing. Take a deep breath as you count to 5. Fill your lungs and expand your thorax. Hold your breath for the count of 3 and slowly let the air out though your mouth while you imagine that the oxygen penetrates every part of your body.
- Do this 3 to 5 times, and then let your mind focus on each point of your body. Ask your head to relax and then focus on your face and do the same. Feel how every muscle on your face begins to relax. Repeat the process on your shoulders, arms and so on until you get to the tips of your feet.
- Once you have gone through your whole body, find one thing to focus on. It can be a flower, or a candle and it can be real or imaginary. Focus on one thing at a time. The mind tries to hold on to many thoughts at the same time and will begin to wonder. Just be aware that this is natural and every time the mind wonders off bring it back to your focal point.
- Repeating a mantra is a good way to help the mind stay focused. A mantra is the repetition of a sacred word. For example, you might repeat the mantra AUM a certain number of times.
- Once you have practiced concentration and learned to focus on one thing at a time you will have experienced the benefits of meditation and you will want to go on to the next stage; clear mind or silent mind. This means no thoughts at all. This is not easily attained and may take months or even years of practice and discipline but the results are powerful.

No Comments | Meditate to Change Your Life
Meditating helps settle the turmoil in our mind which in turn helps us to become happier people. Meditation also helps us make better decisions. It is as simple as that. It takes discipline and practice but this simple act, which only takes a minimum of 10 minutes a day, can help silence the mind and thereby increases concentration and happiness and can help clear the mind for better decision making.
Meditation is an art and it takes practice and patience but in time it will become natural. There are days when meditation is a struggle but others it will seem effortless. Every time a person meditates the process is different, the learning experience is new and the benefits are numerous.
- We become healthier – meditation reduces stress and anxiety, both of these affect our health.
- Increased productivity and concentration – You are more productive when your mind is clear and you are more focused.
- Our troubles become less upsetting. We tend to make things bigger than they really are, but when we are able to look at them with a calm unemotional mind we are able to see our troubles more clearly.
- We become more confident of ourselves– Meditation enables us to listen to our inner self. Through meditation we can gain a better understanding of our life’s purpose and we begin to believe in who we are and self-assured.

No Comments | Visualize a New You
Visualization is a technique that helps you create what you want in your life. Picture yourself wearing that beautiful red dress you saw in the store at the mall. Imagine yourself in the home you would like to live in, decorate it the way you want it and visualize the surroundings so that you can see how it looks where you have decided you want to live. You can also visualize yourself in that new job or with better skills. You can even visualize yourself finding the solution to a problem. It works; it just takes determination, practice and discipline.
I have found that this technique helps me figure out what it is I really want. Many times we know we are un-happy with what we have or with what we are doing, but we don´t really know what we want. Sometimes we don’t let ourselves think about what we want because we believe we do not deserve it.
Visualization helps you focus on your goal and to begin working towards it. That is what opens the path towards achieving our objectives.
Find a quiet comfortable place for yourself, a place where you can spend a few quiet moments where you won’t be disturbed. Close your eyes and breathe deeply. Fill your lungs with air and visualize the oxygen filling every cell in your body with energy and health. Let yourself relax.
Let your mind take you to your special spot; a place on the beach, in a prairie, a path in the woods. Imagine yourself walking towards that which you want to visualize. When you see that goal, take in every detail. Feel the emotions that come with this visualization, experience this with all you sense. Sometimes you can even perceive the aroma that comes with that. Hold on to the emotions as long as you can and then let them go. Send your request out into the universe and let it float free in the air, without constraints and watch were it goes. Watch how in time it will attract all it needs in order to make it come true. Then pay attention to all the opportunities and the messages that present themselves in your life. You may read an article that gives you an idea or a person that can help you get closer to your goal. Concentrate on you goal and listen to the messages that tell you where to go and follow them. You are likely to start thinking negatively and when that happens, write these thoughts down and find a safe place to burn them.
Visualize every day of your life and reap the results.

No Comments | What You Eat Can Change Your Life
We are what we eat and in an unbelievably high amount of people, the food they’re eating is dictating the way they live. If you’re among that hefty group, changing what you eat may change the way you live.
Scientists have been studying food for many years and the latest news is that we need to eat the way our ancestors did. If you look carefully at all the diets that promote ant aging and health, you will notice that all of them recommend the same basic foods.
You have two choices, one that will take you to an immediate satisfaction and a sure pass to the doctor’s office in the future and the other can make you feel so good you could run a marathon.
The following foods come from the selection that Dr. Steven G. Prats of Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla California, recommends in his book Super foods.
Broccoli; The University of John Hopkins announced that broccoli contains an ingredient that prevents the growth of some tumors. Broccoli boosts the immune system, protects the heart and bones and prevents birth defects.
Oranges; It is best to eat oranges as a fruit since this provides a healthy dose of fiber but the juice of fresh squeezed oranges is highly beneficial.
Salmon; Omega 3 increases good cholesterol, reduces blood pressure, stabilizes the heart. Tuna, sardines, trout, oysters and clams also contain Omega 3.
Beans; These are good for the heart, lower the levels of blood sugar, help prevent cancer and they provide energy.
Berries; these are filled with antioxidants, so much so that they are often called berries of youth or memory berries.

No Comments | Learn to Breathe. Learn to Live.
If you take a deep breath you begin the process of eliminating stress, anxiety, pain, and even some health problems. Breathing is more important than eating yet we do not give it the time of day. Do you know that we breathe about 20,000 times a day automatically? How many of those breaths do you think are taken to its full potential? When we breathe automatically be do so with the upper part of the chest, which means that we do not fill our lungs with oxygen and me rarely extend out diaphragm fully which reduces the benefits we should be getting from each breath. Breathing correctly can help us eliminate toxins, problems, questions and it can help us to think clearly.
Begin by finding a few minutes each day to focus on your breathing. In a short time you will do this more often. The benefits increase with each breath. Relax, breathe deeply. Imagine that the air that passes through your nose is pure oxygen. Imagine a light blue glow that fills your lungs with a power that heals, cleanses and nurtures each cell of your body. Exhale through the mouth and picture the air has turned gray as it expels all the negative thoughts, toxins and problems.

No Comments | Single-Task Instead of Multi-Task
Multi-tasking seems to be the fashion of the century. No wonder the ailment of the century is stress!
Multi-tasking may help some people achieve much more but in the long run it leads to overwork, stress, relationship issues, and marital disaster. So just say no to multi-tasking and embrace single-tasking.
This habit will make you more effective in everything you set out to do, and will help you stay focused. It will keep your brain from going on overdrive and most importantly it will make you achieve your goals one at a time, making you feel more fulfilled and productive.
Just like single-tasking at work will improve your productivity, single-tasking at home will make your family happier: your kids and spouse will feel like you’re concentrating more on them, your stress levels will drop and in the long run you’ll feel your time “lasts” longer.
Give single-tasking a try for just a week and you’ll emerge a fresher new you!

No Comments | Get Rid of Difficult People
A newly married young lady was having a terrible time dealing with her husband’s mother who was a bitter older woman. The situation got to be such that the young bride just could not deal with the situation any longer. She decided to consult a witch doctor with the hope that he would help her find a way to make her mother in law leave. The doctor gave her some drops that would send the older woman away if they were administered correctly; 3 drops every 5 hours, but there was a catch. These drops would not work unless she was especially nice to her.
The young lady decided it was worth the effort and did everything she could to be nice to her mother in law, even though she knew she would continue to be treated badly. The first week passed and nothing changed but during the second week she began noticing a difference in the way her mother in law treated her. By the end of the third week she went running back to see the witch doctor to see if she could reverse the medicine that she was giving her mother in law because she no longer wanted her to leave. The doctor told her that the medicine was not in the drops, it was in the effort she had made in treating her mother in law nicely. That had gotten rid of the bitter old woman and brought out the nice person that was hiding inside.
